How do I know if necksaviour is the right size for me?

How do I know if the forces necksaviour delivers are right for me?

Each necksaviour can give either a strong or light stretch.

 

Why is stretching the neck (traction) a therapeutic thing to do?

Traction reduces the pressure on the facet joints, discs and opens up the spaces where nerves exit the spinal canal, which can help relieve pressure from compressed nerves. It also helps stretch the muscles and ligaments as well as increasing bloodflow to the structures deep inside the neck.

 

How often should I use necksaviour?

Up to three times a day.

Is it safe to do exercises while using necksaviour?

It depends on what exercise! Some Pilates and yoga based exercises are ideal, it will give some stretches a whole new dimension. Use of necksaviour during exercise should be done under expert guidance.

Can I use necksaviour sitting up?

necksaviour has been designed to be used in the supine (lying on back) position to achieve maximum relaxation and traction. You can use necksaviour in a reclined position but relaxation and traction may be reduced.

 

Can I use necksaviour if I have Rheumatoid arthritis?

This depends on the severity of your condition. Atlanto-occipital and Atlanto-axial subluxation as a result of rheumatoid arthritis may be contraindicated (as it would be for all traction). If you have rheumatoid arthritis you may want to try necksaviour under the guidance of your therapist or specialist.

 

Is necksaviour suitable for children?

Neck problems in children are thankfully rare. necksaviour may be suitable but it will very much depend on the age/size/weight of the child and their specific condition. You may want to try necksaviour under the guidance of your therapist or specialist.

 

Can I use necksaviour anywhere?

Absolutely! necksaviour is so light and portable it is ideal for taking with you wherever you go. Take necksaviour on holiday, to the park, gym, exercise classes, beach or even the office.

 

When should I use necksaviour?

Whenever you feel like it. This may be when you have neck pain or a headache or feel them developing. You can also use necksaviour as part of a maintenance programme to reduce neck pain/problems and headaches. necksaviour is also ideal for undoing the effects of gravity and poor working postures or after exercise.This is particularly true after certain sports such as cycling or rowing where the head and neck can be in positions of relative extension for long periods.
